Berkeley rescinded its citywide curfew Thursday as looting and attempts to commit crime decreased over the past two nights, according to a press release from the city manager’s office.

The curfew was originally supposed to last until Friday, according to an earlier announcement from the city. The order was rescinded by City Manager Dee Williams-Ridley, who consulted with Berkeley Police Department Chief Andrew Greenwood.

Greenwood noted that the BPD would continue to monitor the city’s situation in the coming days.
