The city of Berkeley announced its 2020 free summer lunch program for children, designed to supplement Berkeley Unified School District’s meal plan.

This summer, the city is offering free “grab and go” lunch pickup at Berkeley parks to everyone under the age of 18. Lunches are available on weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and snacks are available from 2 to 3 p.m.

Places where the meals can be picked up include Strawberry Creek Park, Ohlone Park and West Campus Pool, as well as two community centers and a skate park. A full list of pickup locations is available on the city’s website, and all individuals older than 12 years old must wear face coverings over their noses and mouths when picking up meals.
