Berkeley school district office building damaged by small fire

The Berkeley Unified School District office building at 2020 Bonar St. is temporarily closed for inspections, cleanup and repair work due to a small fire that occurred July 3.

According to a Berkeley Unified School District press release, while most of the damage was to the building’s exterior, the admissions office was also damaged, delaying its reopening. Admissions services, however, will continue, according to the press release.

There were no injuries, and the fire was extinguished by Berkeley Fire Department.
