In response to difficulties small businesses are facing amid the pandemic, California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared that July is "California for All Small Business Month."

California Gov. Gavin Newsom issued a proclamation declaring July “California for All Small Business Month,” in coordination with a new campaign encouraging Californians to buy from local small businesses.

The campaign, which was designed by the governor’s Task Force on Business and Jobs Recovery, is called “Calling All Californians: #ShopSafeShopLocal” and partners with corporations including Nextdoor, Google and UPS. Through the program, small business owners will be connected with resources to help them adapt to the new demands of the COVID-19 pandemic and increase their online capabilities.
