Berkeley police officers found a man with a gunshot wound while responding to reports of gunfire at the intersection of Solano and Fresno avenues.

Police found a man in his 20s with a single gunshot wound lying on the ground in North Berkeley on Saturday around 4 a.m.

Berkeley Police Department officers were responding to reports of gunfire by the intersection of Solano Avenue and Fresno Avenue when they found the man. Berkeley Fire Department transported the man, with serious injuries, to a local hospital.

Residents with any information about the incident are asked to contact the police department’s homicide unit.
