Husband, wife charged with multiple felonies after gunfire incident

Following a July 25 gunfire incident on the 2200 block of Durant Avenue, Alameda County District Attorney's Office charged a Berkeley couple with multiple felonies.

The man was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed firearm and discharging a firearm in a negligent manner following a July 25 gunfire incident at 1 p.m. on the 2200 block of Durant Avenue, where a suspect fired a bullet through the door of an apartment and struck a child’s toy. Berkeley Police Department officers were investigating the incident when they learned that the husband and wife had allegedly previously threatened other residents of their apartment building.

No one was struck by the gunfire.
