The city of Berkeley has had four COVID-19 deaths and 422 confirmed cases as of Aug. 7, an increase over the past two weeks of 60 cases and one death.
According to an email from Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguín, the California Department of Public Health’s disease registry system is currently underreporting the number of cases and tests. He added that this is not impacting the hospitalizations and deaths being reported and that everyone who has tested positive has been notified.
