Red flag warning issued for Berkeley Hills

According to a press release from the city of Berkeley, residents should prepare for the red flag warning by packing a go bag, reviewing evacuation routes and parking off-street when possible to allow space for emergency vehicles.

A high fire danger warning has been issued for Berkeley Hills residents from 5 a.m. Wednesday through 11 a.m. Friday.

According to a press release from the city of Berkeley, residents should prepare for the red flag warning by packing a go bag, reviewing evacuation routes and parking off-street when possible to allow space for emergency vehicles.

The press release recommends signing up for the city’s emergency notification system AC Alert, and it advises residents to use “extreme caution” when using barbecues, power equipment and other heat sources.

“Remember that fireworks are always completely forbidden in Berkeley and surrounding areas,” the press release states.
