Berkeley police find loaded handgun during traffic stop

During the stop, which occurred just after midnight near Ashby and Telegraph avenues, officers saw more than 12 ounces of marijuana in the passenger side of the vehicle. When the occupants were searched, officers found the vehicle passenger, a 26-year-old Berkeley resident, had a loaded handgun.

The passenger was then arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded and concealed firearm, among other charges.
