An Oakland resident was charged with sexual assault by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office on Wednesday.
According to a city of Berkeley press release, the suspect was identified through a DNA match from evidence collected after the assault occurred. The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Carl Duncan.
The press release added that officers arrested Duncan Tuesday morning at his Oakland residence. The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office then charged Duncan on Wednesday with the rape of an intoxicated person and rape of an unconscious person.
The arrest follows a sexual assault report of a woman in her 20s after meeting Duncan at a Southside Berkeley restaurant bar.
