In a campuswide email Tuesday, UC Berkeley’s Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs announced that the Cancel for Non-Payment, or CNP, policy will remain suspended for the spring 2021 semester in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the CNP policy, students are required to pay 20% of tuition and fees by the Friday prior to the beginning of classes. The suspension has not been approved for other semesters, the email states.
The Jan. 15 tuition and fee deadline will still remain in effect, along with late enroll, drop and add fees, according to the email. Students will be able to apply for a short-term emergency loan available Jan. 12.
