The parents of Sydney West, a 19-year-old UC Berkeley student who was reported missing last fall, announced Monday that they are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to West’s return.

West was reported missing on Oct. 2 at around 2 p.m. by a family member, according to a San Francisco Police Department, or SFPD, press release. She was believed to be last seen the morning of Sept. 30 on the Golden Gate Bridge in the area of Crissy Field in San Francisco.

Almost four months after West’s disappearance, Kimberly and Jay West, Sydney West’s parents, announced in a Facebook post that they are offering a $10,000 reward for anyone who is able to locate her or provide information that can lead to her return. Jay West added that information should be forwarded to San Francisco private investigator Scott Dudek, who can be contacted at 925-705-8328. The reward will expire on April 1, 2021, according to the post.

In the post, Kimberly and Jay West described video footage of when Sydney West was last seen. They noted that in the video, there were various people seen around Sydney West at the time and they “believe that somebody must know something.”

“The reality is that we get tips all the time, some as just as a few as a couple weeks ago,” Jay West said in the post. “Many of these tips, they haven’t panned out but we are hopeful because not all of them we’ve been able to run them all the way down. We want our daughter home.”

Sydney West was last seen wearing a sweatshirt, dark-colored shorts and blue Vans shoes, according to the SFPD press release. She was also described as a white female with blond hair, blue eyes, a height of 5 feet, 10 inches and a weight of 130 pounds. The press release also noted that Sydney West is considered at risk due to depression.

SFPD previously asked that anyone who sees Sydney West call 911 or their local law enforcement agency with a prepared statement that includes information on her current location and clothing description, according to the press release.
