With Valentine’s Day looking a little different this year, sending a love-filled package is a great option during these socially distant times. Receiving something in the mail is always exciting, and knowing that someone loves you enough to put it all together will make the recipient of this package feel all the more special. It’s super simple, totally customizable and will really spread the love this Valentine’s Day!

Get a box

Any shippable cardboard box will do! If you’re like me and do too much online shopping, you should have tons of boxes lying around that you can repurpose for this. If not, you can buy a shipping box for pretty cheap. If you are repurposing a box, make sure to peel all the other labels off of it before you start.

Decorate the Box

While you have to keep the original shipping box visible if you plan on sending your box in the mail (no wrapping paper!), you can still make that ratty old cardboard box look super festive. All you need is a red or pink marker and you can go to town! Get creative with it — you can draw hearts all over or love notes! Even a simple “I love you” or “Happy Valentines Day” works great.

Get your decorations and fillings

To make the inside of the box more festive, spread out some V-Day-themed tissue paper as a layer for your items. Once you have that base layer down, you can choose whatever goodies you want in the box. Pick out some of the recipients’ favored sweets and load them up. You can also include other fun Valentine’s knick-knacks like small decorations, games or socks!

Make a card

Nothing says love like a handwritten and decorated card or a heartfelt letter! Get creative and let the words flow. This year has been so hard and reflecting on the love and support shared between you and the recipient would be super special. If deep and heartfelt isn’t your thing, you can always look up some fun Valentine’s Day jokes or cute pictures — do whatever your heart desires!

Receiving this special package will truly make your friend, significant other or family member feel so loved this Valentine’s Day. Not only will you be making someone super happy, but you’re sure to become happier yourself — it’s a win-win as we see it. Even if you don’t want to ship a package, you can still put this together and drop it off to those around you as a super COVID-19 safe way to spread the love!
