UCPD responds to report of arson in People’s Park

At 7:44 a.m. Monday, UCPD received a report of a tent being set on fire at People's Park. According to UCPD spokesperson Sgt. Sabrina Reich, no suspects are currently known.

At 7:44 a.m., UCPD received a report that a tent was set on fire at the park, according to UCPD spokesperson Sgt. Sabrina Reich. After officers and Berkeley Fire Department responded, Reich added that they determined the fire had caused minor property damage to the tent.

Reich said no one was injured during the incident, and any suspects are currently unknown. Anyone who has information about the crime is advised to contact UCPD at 510-642-6760.
