As COVID-19 vaccine rollout progresses throughout California, UC Berkeley has eased mandatory testing requirements for students, faculty and staff who are fully vaccinated.
If not vaccinated by UHS, one can indicate their vaccinated status in eTang by uploading a photo of their vaccine card and indicating the date they were vaccinated in the COVID-19 Vaccine section of Medical Clearances, according to a campus COVID-19 dashboard update Friday.
The update added that campus will release a process and form for vaccine declination soon.
Campus considers people fully vaccinated 14 days after their final dose, the update reads. After this point, vaccinated athletes and on-campus students will be required to get tested for COVID-19 once per week instead of twice.
Testing will no longer be required for everyone else in the 90-day period after they have received their final dose, the update notes.
Regardless of one’s vaccination status, the update urges campus community members to quarantine and schedule a diagnostic test should they begin to experience COVID-19 symptoms or come into contact with someone who has COVID-19.
Campus has yet to determine what surveillance testing will look like after the 90-day post-vaccination period and for the fall, according to the update, they are waiting on guidance from the Public Health Committee.
Check back for updates.
