UC Berkeley students living in on-campus or off-campus congregate housing will soon be able to consider themselves one among the 7 million Californians fully vaccinated as of press time, with the help of University Health Services, or UHS.

According to a message from UHS sent to eligible students Monday, UC Berkeley has partnered with the city, county and state to provide 700 students with COVID-19 vaccination appointment codes. These codes will allow them to book an appointment at the Oakland Coliseum’s mass vaccination site through My Turn.

Those eligible include any UC Berkeley students living in on-campus housing, CalGreek housing or Berkeley Student Cooperatives.

The message states that the site will be offering the one-dose Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine and that the codes do not expire. Therefore, students in quarantine or isolation should wait until they have been cleared by UHS to book an appointment, the message adds.

Interested students can navigate to their eTang portal, where they will find a message from UHS with a Google form to fill out. UHS asks that students only fill out their form if they plan to use it to schedule a vaccination appointment and that they do so by noon Tuesday.

The message notes that UHS will reach out to the first 700 students via email to provide them with their code and instructions on how to proceed.

“If you do not get a code from us by Tuesday, April 6 at 5pm, that means we distributed them all out,” the message reads. “For those who did not receive a code, but are still interested in possibly getting a vaccine through UHS, we will reach out to you as we get more vaccine availability at our sites.”
