UCPD officers found the body of an unidentified deceased male adult inside a tent in People’s Park on Saturday morning.

At 8:40 a.m., UCPD received a report of a possible deceased person near the 2500 block of Haste Street in the park, according to UCPD spokesperson Lt. Sabrina Reich. Responding officers then found the man’s body inside a tent after arriving, Reich added.

Reich said the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau will conduct an autopsy this week to determine the person’s identity and the cause of death. There were no clear signs of foul play, Reich noted.

Reich urged anyone with information about the incident to contact UCPD at (510) 642-6760.
