Berkeley Police Department officers responded to a report of an in-progress fight near the intersection of Telegraph Avenue and Channing Way on Friday evening.

At 10:02 p.m., officers arrived at the scene and saw a group of 10 people engaged in a fight, according to BPD spokesperson Byron White. The Berkeley Fire Department responded to treat two people at the scene who had been sprayed with pepper spray during the fight, White added.

Once officers broke up the fight, two individuals who were determined to be the primary aggressors, including one juvenile and one 18-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of assault, according to BPD Sgt. Veronica Rodrigues.

“Apparently, the fight began over a parking space…” White said in an email.
