While Cal’s Division I athletes often soak up all of the glory, another group of Cal athletes knows how to work hard in silence: intramural athletes.

After the COVID-19 pandemic put intramural, or IM, sports on an indefinite hiatus, the wait is finally over: IM sports are tentatively set to return Oct. 10. Basketball, dodgeball, flag football, futsal, soccer, softball, tennis, ultimate frisbee and volleyball will all be fielding teams. Esports, including League of Legends, Overwatch and Fortnite will also be returning.

Students who wish to participate in an IM league must possess a Berkeley Recreatioanl Sports membership, purchase an IM sports season pass and register with a team.

Correction/Clarification: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that dodgeball, futsal, softball, tennis and Esports, including League of Legends, Overwatch and Fortnite will be returning. In fact, only basketball, flag football, soccer, ultimate frisbee and volleyball will be fielding teams.
