It’s officially the holiday season, and “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is playing on the radio. If you’re looking for a hot beverage to keep you warm and cozy, consider making this gingerbread latte to usher in the winter cheer.
Ingredients:
- 1 to 2 shots espresso or ½ cup strong coffee
- ½ cup milk of choice
- 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of ground ginger
- Whipped cream (optional)
Directions:
- Brew your espresso or coffee by your preferred method, and set it to the side.
- Combine milk, dark brown sugar, cinnamon and ground ginger in a separate cup.
- Froth the mixture using a milk frother. Alternatively, you can shake the mixture up in a sealed jar for 60 seconds, then microwave uncovered for 45 seconds to achieve similar results.
- Pour the brewed espresso or strong coffee into a mug, then pour the frothed milk on top.
- Though optional, topping it off with whipped cream makes the latte experience so much better.
With your gingerbread latte in hand, you are now ready to power through the remaining weeks until winter break. Here’s a link to a classic Christmas Spotify playlist to accompany you as you sip your latte.
