The Bears are back in it.
On Early National Signing Day, Cal managed to sign its highest-ranked offensive recruit since 2017 in Norco running back Jaydn Ott. Ott, who had previously decommitted from Cal earlier this fall, is officially a member of the Bears.
“I want to commit to a program first and foremost and that’s what I did,” Ott said in an interview with 247Sports. “I committed to Cal, the University and I know I’ll be happy no matter what happens next.”
Ott also mentioned his “strong” relationship with Cal’s running backs coach Aristotle Thompson and his desire to have something for after football as major reasons as to why he ended up coming back to UC Berkeley.
With this signing, Cal’s backfield will be loaded with talent in 2022 and beyond.
