With the 2021 season ending, the feeling of fall football was fleeting. However, in releasing the schedule for the 2022 season, the Bears have announced a total of 12 games that fans can look forward to for the upcoming year. Seven games will be played at home, and five will be played on the road.

Cal will first face off against UC Davis — a team that it last played in 2019 at Memorial Stadium — in a nonconference match Sept. 3. The season will continue with a game against UNLV on Sept. 10. This will be the blue and gold’s first matchup with the Rebels. The last noncoference game will see Cal square off against Notre Dame in Indiana on Sept. 17.

Pac-12 conference play is set to begin with a game Sept. 24 against Arizona. Washington State is up next on the docket Oct. 1. Cal is scheduled to meet Colorado on Oct. 15, and soon after, the blue and gold face University of Washington on Oct. 22. Oregon and USC will be waiting Oct. 29 and Nov. 5, respectively. The Bears will then face Oregon State on Nov. 12.

The end of the season features the big-ticket matchups, with Cal set to spar against Stanford on Nov. 19 for the 125th “Big Game,” then looking to challenge UCLA in the last game of the year Nov. 25 at home.

The Pac-12 championship game is set for Dec. 2 –– Cal has not won a championship match since 2006. While the 2021 season did not provide the Bears an opportunity to grace the field on the Pac-12’s biggest stage, perhaps 2022 will have other plans for the blue and gold.

The Bears have added six new faces (all three-star recruits) to the Cal family so far today, and presumably have quite a few more on the way.
