UC Berkeley, city of Berkeley issue Tsunami warnings for marina area

The campus WarnMe system and Berkeley Police Department issued a Tsunami evacuation order for anyone living in the Berkeley Marina area Saturday morning.

“City of Berkeley PD has issued a MANDATORY evacuation order due to Tsunami warning,” the email stated. “People living in the marina area need to evacuate immediately. Waves and strong currents are expected.”

Anyone living in the Marina area should evacuate immediately to safer grounds.
