With only a month left of summer break and the summer heat higher than ever, it’s the perfect time to whip up a classic summer treat. With so many options of refreshing snacks, it may be hard to pick which one is right for you. That’s why we’re here to help! Take this quiz based on your favorite food preferences to find out which summer treat you should make.

    1. Fries in milkshakes is the way to go
    2. Ketchup on eggs

Use your favorite flavor of ice cream and type of soda to specialize this treat to be perfect for you. Whip up this snack quickly when the sun is heating you up and you’re sure to cool off before you know it!

Mostly 2s: Popsicles! This treat is perfect for cooling off on hot summer days. These frozen treats are easy to make with minimal supplies. Buy some popsicle holders, pick your favorite juices, and mix up this quick treat. Look up some easy go-to recipes on Pinterest if you need some flavor inspiration!

Mostly 3s: Strawberry shortcake! This sweet yet refreshing treat is the perfect mix for a midday pick-me-up. With only a few ingredients and a fairly simple cooking process, you’re sure to find yourself making this again and again. Get some strawberries and whipped cream and pick out a recipe that suits your taste buds perfectly!

Mostly 4s: Pigs in a blanket! This go-to is the perfect snack for any barbecue or summer afternoon hangout. Make them from scratch, or heat some frozen ones for a super easy treat. Buy whatever toppings you like and these little guys are sure to be a huge hit.

During this, I was granted a temporary break from the below-par dining halls, and I was thrilled to be able to take my mom to try all of my favorite meals in the area. It was during this time that I realized that Berkeley actually has a pretty strong food scene. Here are some of my favorite spots around Berkeley for when you’re looking for a meal that’ll linger in your mind for weeks to follow.
