Music festivals are known for lots of things. The music, the food, the drinks and very often, the outfits. With a weekend filled with so many exciting shows comes just as many flashy and intricate outfits. As the Outside Lands music festival has just passed in San Francisco, a whole season of festival outfits have been posted on Instagram. The Daily Clog has been observing and is here to highlight some of our favorite trends from the weekend!

Patterns

One thing that stood out among the crowds were intricate patterns. Whether it was a bright top or zebra-print pants, countless people rocked this style. Some of our favorite combinations were mixed pattern outfits. These clashing ensembles were surprisingly cohesive and the perfect level of “out there” for such an event. We also loved seeing the matching patterned sets. From jumpsuits to skirts and tank tops, this style was an easy way to look incredible and stand out.

Comfortable style

While there were many people donning extravagant outfits, there were also plenty who went for a more relaxed look. When you’re out all day doing lots of walking, comfort is often a high priority. Some of the most practical looks were also some of the best and well planned out. From oversized band t-shirts to baggy jeans and crop tops, this style was the perfect way to stay comfortable in all temperatures and ensure you could enjoy the music while still looking stylish.

Bright colors

For the people who wanted to pop in the crowd this was the way to go. With neon colors being a hot choice this summer, this was a classic and easy way to create the perfect statement outfit. Neon yellows and pinks were spotted all across the grounds, and we never grew tired of seeing people sporting these fun colors.

Monochrome

Monochromatic outfits have been the rage on Pinterest and Instagram these days, and Outsidelands was no different. Many people strutted around in cleverly put together monochromatic styles. Whether it was a matching set or each piece in a different shade, this choice was one of the cutest and most unique of the weekend. Matching tops, bottoms, glasses and accessories made for some perfect and cohesive festival fits.

Whether you’re planning for your next concert or just love looking through different festival styles, we hope our hot takes from this weekend’s fashion choices have been helpful to you. Festivals are exciting and the perfect chance to wear whatever makes you feel your best. As the next season of festivals slowly approaches, keep that in mind and we can’t wait to see what unique styles come next!

As I prepare for my senior year at UC Berkeley, I find myself in a state of self-reflection. I look back at my past years, all the things I’ve experienced and think about how they’ve all led me to where I am now. As I approach my last year of undergrad, I’m filled with excitement, angst, nerves, gratitude and every emotion I could imagine.

You might also have a festival or two booked for the summer, and for many of you, it may be your very first one. Well, let me tell you that festivals aren’t always what they seem on social media as here are some  things  no one tells you about music festivals.
