With more than 150 undergraduate majors and minors to choose from, UC Berkeley can be an overwhelming place for new and returning students alike. If you’re feeling like a small fish in a big pond, don’t fret: What better way to combat this worry than to arbitrarily categorize your peers based on their majors? Whether you’ve been set on your major since stepping foot on campus year or remain undecided, take this quiz to find out which of the most popular UC Berkeley majors best fits your personality!

- It’s a Saturday morning. You are:
- Staying in
- Studying — the grind never stops!
- Still partying from the night before
- Getting breakfast with a friend
-
- Electrical engineering and computer sciences/CS — EECS and CS are in different colleges, but like me, you probably don’t know the difference otherwise. Regardless, these are both challenging and extremely popular majors. If you don’t shower, or do and are looking to break a stereotype, these may be the majors for you!
- Molecular and cell biology — There are actually a bunch of different biology majors available on campus, but MCB is the most popular for some reason. Nonetheless, I’m not sure I’ve ever met a biology major who wasn’t either on the premed route or contemplating dropping. If never having free time sounds like your ideal, this major might be for you!
- Economics/business administration (Haas) — If you’re insulted that I grouped econ and Haas together, then business administration might be for you! In all seriousness, though, these are highly competitive majors that can require a lot of creativity and connections. So if you love socializing and collaborating with your peers, this may be the route for you!
- Political science — It wouldn’t be UC Berkeley without mentioning the campus’s long-standing political history and activism. Whether you’re a (hopeful) future lawyer or simply want to make sure everyone knows your opinion, especially when they don’t ask, then political science may be for you.
