Senior punter Jamieson Sheahan announced his decision to enter the 2023 NFL draft via Twitter. The Bendigo, Australia, local played his first-ever competitive football game with his arrival at Cal in 2020, and has since transcended into an impactful player.
Over a three-year campaign with the blue and gold, Sheahan saw action in 28 games and boasted an average of 43.51 yards per punt. The senior departs his collegiate football career at third on Cal’s all-time list with 141 total punts for 6,135 yards.
As a Bear, he mounted 28 punts of more than 50 yards and has forced opponents into 59 fair catches. Sheahan concluded his tenure at Cal with a memorable play, a scrambling wrong-footed 32-yard punt in a season finale against UCLA, impressing fans and analysts alike.
With eyes set on a professional career, Sheahan thanked Cal coaches, staff and teammates for the success of his first American football experience.
