Whether it’s another year of being single or your very first, you don’t necessarily need a romantic partner to indulge in Valentine’s Day festivities. The Clog has some self-care ideas to make the most out of your Cupid’s Day, whether that’s staying in or going out.

Wear something that makes you feel good

If you’re anything like me, getting ready is one of the highlights of my days. Wearing something that makes you feel confident and comfortable is the best way to show yourself some love. It’s only normal you’d want to feel sexy and beautiful on Valentine’s Day. Whether that’s in a mini skirt or a baggy hoodie — wear something that makes YOU feel amazing.

Plan a night with friends

Don’t feel like being alone? Plan a fun night in or out with some friends and enjoy their company. Cooking a Valentine’s Day dinner together and watching a movie is a great way to unwind. Bake desserts together and decorate your cakes with the rizziest pickup lines you can come up with. Winner gets to pick the film! Or maybe you want a night out on the town — San Francisco is only a BART ride away.

Spa night

When was the last time you had a real bath? With bubbles? Run a warm bath with your favorite bath bomb and apply a face mask before stepping in. For an even more romantic mood, light some candles and play some smooth jazz.

Treat yourself

Whether that’s to flowers, chocolates, jewelry or an expensive meal, who says you need someone to buy you the things you want? Treating yourself is a great way of showing yourself a little gratitude for all the hard work you’ve been doing. If you choose to eat out by yourself, try to take in the moment instead of going on your phone. While eating by yourself can be a very hard thing to do, imagine going to a restaurant and seeing your date on their phone the entire time. Red flag, right? So, take in the moment and enjoy your environment. Learn to love these solo dates!

Dance to a slow song

This one is more like a sway than a dance, but you get the point. Put on your favorite slow song and vibe to the melody. If you want something a little more fast-paced, have a concert in your room. Taylor Swift songs are always fun to sing along to.

The Clog wishes you a lovely Valentine’s Day and hopes these tips come in handy this February 14.
