The area of the 2900 block of Dwight Way, near Clark Kerr Campus and east of Hillside Avenue, is to be avoided due to a fallen tree and downed power line, according to a campus WarnMe alert sent at 1:06 p.m. Tuesday.

The downed power line is part of greater storm-related outages in the Bay Area. PG&E spokesperson Tamar Sarkissian noted that 91,988 East Bay customers — and 296,067 overall in the Bay Area — are known to have been impacted by these outages as of 4:37 p.m. Tuesday.

“PG&E has been preparing for this storm,” Sarkissian said in an email. “PG&E has a plan, and we will execute that plan.”

Sarkissian said this preparation included the use of storm prediction models, as well as vegetation management and equipment staging to reduce risk and quickly restore power.

Customers can access outage information online at the PG&E website.
