Spring break — or should I say my salvation? Never has a break been needed so much. With midterms soon coming to a close and carry-ons being packed for the week-long break, I can’t help but picture all the great things I’ll be doing to de-stress during this “vacation.” Here are the things I plan on doing this break in case you need ideas too!
Going to a concert
Okay, this one has been in the works for a while, so I don’t blame you if you can’t find a show at such short notice. Let me tell you, this concert has been circled on my calendar since December! My dear friend surprised me with Nessa Barrett concert tickets for Christmas, and I couldn’t be more excited with the date coming up! What’s better? It falls on my birthday, so I’ll be having the best time ringing in 19, singing my heart out at the Hollywood Palladium.
Watching “Naruto” with my brother
My brother should start paying me for all the promotion I give him on here. I swear, I mention him at least once in almost all of my articles, but I do love spending time with him. I’ve come to value our time together even more after leaving for college, and we’ve made a pact to watch the entirety of “Naruto” together. We have currently just finished the Pain arc and about to start The Fourth Great Ninja War arc. When I tell you we’ve never been more hyped — my parents jokingly threaten to cancel our Hulu subscription if we spend any more time watching.
Finally going to the movies to watch “Creed III”
I grew up faithfully watching the Rocky movies with my dad and love rewatching them now as comfort movies. How could I not continue watching The Italian Stallion’s story in the Creed trilogy? Not only were they good, but leaving the theater after watching them always had me pleading with my dad to enroll me in boxing classes. It’s a necessity that I watch “Creed III” with my family in theaters for the full experience.
Hanging out with my bestie from back home
Long-distance friendships can be so hard sometimes! The constant busy schedules and miles apart make you miss that special friend extra hard. I am so excited to finally spend time with my best friend from back home and give her the biggest hug. We’ve been discussing our plans for spring break during our weekly FaceTime calls, and let me tell you, the list is long. Now that she can drive, we’re definitely going to Barnes & Noble and browsing the romance novel section like it’s nobody’s business.
Reading with my mom
I take all the credit for getting my mom back into reading. One thing I won’t be humble about is my stellar book recommendations. I have taste! Last summer, we formed our mother-daughter book club and had so much fun reading the same book and then discussing it. I can’t wait to pick out a book (or more) this spring break to read with her and fangirl over.
Pretty solid list, am I right? If your spring break was looking a little dull, hopefully, a few of my plans spark some ideas. The Clog wishes you a very restful and peaceful spring break!
