Thus, I present to you the non-literal things that I want to bring back from Paris (mainly because I brought one carry-on suitcase and a backpack with me and didn’t have the room to buy much). 

I’m in Paris, the City of Love, finding myself in awe of paintings I’ve studied countless times in class, sharing a glass of wine at dinner like I had so dreamed of and searching for a new oasis and an iced matcha latte on the daily. And while I haven’t met the love of my life, I’ve possibly rediscovered a little bit of my love for life itself. 

What someone looks forward to is different in every person, but for me, I’m looking forward to studying abroad in Paris this summer and also slightly terrified of the fact that I’m going to be shipped off to a foreign country for six weeks.

So, the question becomes: How do people make class friends into actual friends? How do we discern between friendships that are transactional and convenient versus friendships that are meant to be? 

The sun is out, summer is rolling in and the rain and harshness of the cold weather has finally come to an end. So, here are some things we can do to feel a little more granola. 

While we can’t ever have concrete and solidified evidence like numbers to measure how much we’ve changed in the past year, we can always start a conversation with ourselves and the ones that we’ve found to have our back.

For those of you who have been living under a rock, Checkmate is an app where you and your “friends” can scan each other’s profiles to check your compatibility percentage based on how you answer various personality questions on a scale from 1 to 10 (1 often being strongly disagreeing and 10 being strongly agreeing).

There are certain moments in life when you become cognizant of how much things have changed. It is in those little moments when you begin to call your dorm home that you recognize how much time has passed.

Hi, my name is Aimee, and I have no idea what I want to do with my life. 

I embarked on this journey this semester of exposure therapy, in which I aim to do the opposite of what I would normally do or want to do. This was all in an effort to confront all my anxious thoughts and to remind myself that creating this illusion of romanticism being the only remedy to reality is not a sustainable mindset.
