Premiering March 2 at San Francisco’s Presidio Theater, the play intertwines the shadow puppetry of ShadowLight Productions and the invented instruments of Paul Dresher Ensemble.

Since Oakland-based VoxBody Studio opened in 2017, founder and teacher Blue has been switching things up by providing a safer space for rope enthusiasts and rope-curious individuals to explore their own turn-ons and turn-offs through rope bondage.

“Exodus to Eden” may not be your happy-go-lucky slice of theater, but it deserves applause for braving creative risk. It doesn’t pretend to solve the problems it addresses; it simply puts them out there for the audience to pay attention to.

Panto may still be relatively unknown to American audiences, but Presidio Theater has beautifully rendered its intoxicating humor to the Bay Area.

It uniquely reflects on art by uniting the artist with the viewer, stretching their imaginations as one to form a new trail of inspiration.

In a show like “The Late Wedding,” months of work only dazzle the public eye for one weekend. For Bierlein, this is a humbling experience that earnestly links them to their craft.

“Our mission is to create performance opportunities for students, by students,” Castillo explained.

From navigating the push-and-pull of an addictive relationship in “Darlin’ ” to finding the strength to walk away in “10,000 Reasons,” Lewis shares the fractured tensions and mind-bending transformations of her venture to self-discovery. Audio recordings may focus on the sonic senses, but they don’t block Lewis’ thunderous spirit from blazing through.
