On Friday, the internationally acclaimed Berkeley music label and film studio Fantasy Studios announced its intent to close Sept. 15.

Lee will be running against the current vice chair, U.S. Rep. Linda Sánchez, D-California, who announced her bid on July 17.

A homeless man was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly grabbing and dragging a woman across the street in Downtown Berkeley, according to Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Officer Byron White.

According to the CHP, the three people were injured by gunshots and were transported to a local hospital, but not by an ambulance. The CHP reopened the eastbound freeway lanes about 6 a.m.

The ASUC Student Union Board of Directors has proposed renovations to the first two levels of the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union for $3.5 million.

The reform plan also proposed consolidating parts of the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture into the Environmental Protection Agency, and merging the National Marine Fisheries Service with the Fish and Wildlife Service, to improve federal wildlife and fisheries policies.

The motion did not pass — four council members voted in favor of the proposal, one vote against it and one abstained, with three council members absent.

According to BPD spokesperson Officer Byron White, paramedics took the woman to a local hospital. White said her injuries were not critical.

At the UC Board of Regents meeting in July, the board will vote to appoint Weddle as the 2018-19 UC student regent-designate. According to the UC regents special committee that nominated her, Weddle was selected out of 40 applicants from campuses across the UC.
