Childhood is a critical time when children challenge the gender and sexual norms taught to them.

The United States culture of constant consumption conceals the means by which goods, including food, are produced.

Climate and environmental injustice affects communities differently, so why does climate activism continuously seem to center around white people? 

At a time when the rights of these individuals are being threatened on a daily basis, the Berkeley community as a whole must stand up. Everyone is capable of perpetuating transphobia, and therefore, everyone must combat the culture that marginalizes transgender, nonbinary and gender-nonconforming people.

The first step in remedying this problem is for the academy to address the limitations of its categories and to express a genuine understanding of how it perpetuates an oppressive gender binary. The next step is to find ways to acknowledge nonbinary actors without forcing them to identify as a specific gender.

You deserve stigma-free knowledge to have agency over your reproductive health, so ask your medical provider about what’s right for you.

Every morning, I recite to myself like a prayer, “You are strong, you are worthy, you are wonderful and you deserve to exist. You have overcome so much — you cannot let them win.”

The problem is that I am not only being erased by conservatives; I am being erased by my own “allies.”

For someone who identifies within the LGBTQ+ community, I feel as though I constantly have to justify my queerness, on top of the stigma I face every day from the heteronormative world.

The reality of the matter is that once Pride Month ends, this “inclusion” does as well — until next year during Pride.
