As thousands of people tuned in Feb. 12 to see the hugely anticipated sequel, “To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You,” my best friend and I, both of us UC Berkeley juniors, had a slightly surreal experience watching it.

Uber is so interesting. On the surface, it’s an app that makes transportation more convenient. But an inevitable byproduct of that is a stranger coming into your life for a period of time.

But your past doesn’t define you at the same time. You are not the sum of your bad experiences. You are the sum of your good, bad and ugly experiences — and every experience you have faced in between.

On April 20, more than 200 volunteers picked up thousands of pieces of garbage, including but not limited to the items mentioned before, from the Berkeley Marina. In partnership with the local Shorebird Park Nature Center, the Cal Alumni Association, or CAA, has sponsored this event annually since 2017.
