I’ve seen the beauty that diversity can bring, and I now have the tools to understand the alienation I feel. I feel empowered to no longer take this feeling as a given. 

As we reach the tenth month of the year, Halloween is finally right around the corner. Unlike the nostalgic trick-or-treating of our childhoods, Halloween around here often means several days of dressing up and going out.

Like many other Berkeley students, I’m constantly searching for ways to expand my music horizons. In an attempt to learn some more about music history, I stumbled upon a list put out by the Library of Congress: a list of 600 sound recordings they deem to be “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.

I’ve always had a morbid fascination with cults. Their manipulation tactics and psychology have been at the forefront of many late-night Wikipedia rabbit holes.

Here are some of the pros and cons I’ve discovered about living in Northside in Berkeley as an undergrad student.

Having a designated color palette can make getting ready in the morning infinitely easier. With the busy schedules all Berkeley students seem to have, who has time to think about what clothes go together well? Curating a wardrobe of pieces that complement your color palette saves you a morning headache.

Leaving home is such a strange thing. I came to Berkeley, California, last year and told myself that I would never look back.

Then, there it was. A video of a young woman reminding her audience that USAjobs had just uploaded a ton of new park ranger positions. Huh, I thought to myself, park rangers get sick hats.
