After you get trained as a copy editor at The Daily Californian, it becomes virtually impossible to stop copy editing everything and anything you read. This, my friend, is what we Daily Cal copy editors like to call “night eyes.”

We scoured more than 100 years of digital archives to highlight notable events from campus and Daily Cal history. From the very first game at Memorial Stadium to the Milo Yiannopoulos protests, we compiled headlines from nearly every decade since the Daily Cal was founded in 1871. So sit back, relax and take a scroll through history.

As my time at college, and at the Daily Cal, comes to an end, I can’t help but wonder about what the future holds once more.

These pieces of paper are priceless — not just because I didn’t pay for most of them. They’re the closest thing I have to physically collecting my memories.

In June, a copypasta was born. A Reddit user pleaded, “Don't say ‘UCB’ when referring to Berkeley” and faced near-instant meme backlash from students.

This June has been a month of change. More than ever before, the world’s attention is focused on the critical injustices marginalized communities face.
