What better way to poke fun at our rivals than dig up the old meme, #justgirlythings? While Stanford students argue that they attend a better university, we here at UC Berkeley know that just isn't true. How could a school so easy to make fun of be that good?

This weekend, I escaped the California smoke for the New Orleans rain and found myself in a world of music, beignets and beads. I felt a bit like Nick Carraway being sucked into Gatsby’s world of revelry, colorful lights and an intoxicating stupor, except New Orleans is a very real place.

While we at the Clog could go on for days assigning the fictional places to real ones on campus, we decided it might be more fun to imagine what the beloved Tolkien characters would be doing if they attended UC Berkeley.
