Every award-winning journalist started off somewhere. For New Yorker staff writer Margaret Talbot, that place was The Daily Californian, which she affectionately calls the “training ground” for her successful journalism career.

With a portfolio of photographs spanning the globe, Bay-Area based freelance photographer Noah Berger has been recognized as one of the Daily Californian’s Alumni of the Year.

The Daily Californian elected Josh Yuen as the spring 2020 editor in chief on Nov. 6. As of 5 p.m. Dec. 6, he assumed the position.
