Students de-stressed with llamas on Memorial Glade on Wednesday at a “Mental Health Day” event hosted by the office of ASUC Senator Saakshi Goel.

The Pet Hug Pack, a therapy dog group sponsored by Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation, features breeds that range from Shih Tzu poodles to Sheepadoodles and visits hospitals, nursing homes and schools to help people de-stress.

The Berkeley Forum, a student-run organization that hosts prominent speaking events on campus, announced its lineup of 17 speakers Wednesday afternoon — a stark increase from the nine speakers slated in spring 2018 and the 12 speakers in fall 2017.

Berkeley continues to have healthy air quality, despite the County Fire spreading ashes and smoke in the Bay Area throughout the weekend.

The fundraiser will be held at Simons and Heising’s home in Atherton and will also feature U.S. Reps. Anna Eshoo and Nancy Pelosi.

Berkeley Lab is using goats to eat the underbrush in the grassy hills surrounding the building, which the lab’s fire marshal, Todd LaBerge, said can keep fires from spreading.

All 53 of California’s seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and one U.S. Senate seat are up for election, along with the positions of governor, lieutenant governor and select state Legislature district seats.

With finals just around the corner, the llamas are making a long-awaited reappearance Friday on Memorial Glade from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the first ever “Llamapalooza” event.

A group of UC Berkeley students wheeled a worn-out upright piano onto Sproul Plaza before dawn Sunday — within 48 hours, the piano disappeared and was most likely stolen.

The scent of marijuana floated over Memorial Glade on Friday as more than 2,000 students gathered to celebrate “4/20 on the Glade.”
