Berkeley’s food scene is known for being cheap, plentiful, and, most importantly, delicious. With cuisines ranging from Mexican to Chinese, pizza to gook soo, you’ll rarely find yourself bored by the same old restaurant. While some scour websites like Yelp for what’s good, the best recommendations always come from fellow students.

It’s difficult to wrap your head around all the new, unique opportunities you’ll be exposed to when you come to UC Berkeley. Luckily, we at the Daily Cal compiled a list of some of the coolest, most easily accessible organizations, along with the quick-and-dirty on why and how you should join!

Packing for your first year of college is, admittedly, a nerve-wracking task.

When I received my acceptance email from UC Berkeley, I was exhausted. I had just finished a shift at work after a full day’s worth of classes at Berkeley City College.

So you're coming to CalSO. It could be only your first or second time ever stepping foot on campus. In these few days, you will eat at UC Berkeley dining halls, explore Telegraph Avenue, attend an ungodly amount of info sessions, talk to your advisers for the first time and sign up for classes. Your advisers can help you out to the best of their abilities, but you need advice from real UC Berkeley students on the best, most interesting classes to take here.
