The Bears traveled up to Seattle to take on the Washington Huskies but struggled to muster any control over the game.

After starting 2-1 in nonconference games, the Bears hope to continue their momentum as they begin the most crucial stretch of games this season. But Cal’s first taste of in-conference play is at Washington — and the mountain program is far from an easy win.

At times I am asked, “why would anyone care?” about football. After some reflection, I came to the understanding that there are a variety of reasons why I personally adore football, and I believe so many others do too.

As a sophomore, Jeremiah Earby is one of Cal’s most promising young stars, and he is ambitious and excited about his goals for the future on and off the field.

Affectionately nicknamed ‘Pops’ by his teammates, new Bear Isaiah Ifanse has an outlook on football and life far beyond his years.

Although Cal’s defeat to Auburn stung, the Bears still have 10 games to make their last Pac-12 football season one to remember.
