From an impressive-looking secondary to depth in skill positions backing up the blue and gold’s No. 1s, here are a few takeaways from the first week of training camp.

With the first day of Cal football’s fall camp kicking off Wednesday, one big storyline has already emerged — the looming absence of Oregon transfer Byron Cardwell.
