For the second year in a row, Cal men’s rowing became the Pac-12 champion while women’s rowing placed third overall.

Although momentum was certainly on Cal’s side heading into its first matchup of the NCAA championship, everything seemed to change once the Bears entered the pool in Stockton.

Despite a stunning sweep against UCLA, Cal baseball’s struggle against conference opponents resumed this past weekend after dropping two of three games to Washington State.

The Bears have been a team that has shown the ability to fight their way back into games, but a five-run first inning by the Utes was the beginning of the end for Cal.

Competing at the Pac-12 championships, both of Cal’s teams, the men and women, took fourth place. It was none other than the Cal throwing squad that carried the team with four podium finishes.

As students finish up the 2023 finals season, Cal track and field is faced with a final test — the Pac-12 championships and the rest of the postseason.

Cal’s story for a second national championship continues this Monday at the Morgan Hill regional.
