Sunday morning, men's crew swept the Intercollegiate Rowing Association championships for the first time in Cal history, becoming back-to-back champions.

Women’s crew finished out its season with an eighth-place in the national championships while the men’s team is off to the races this weekend.

After placing third at the Pac-12 Championships, the Bears will begin the heat races Friday morning for the NCAA championships in Camden, New Jersey.

For the second year in a row, Cal men’s rowing became the Pac-12 champion while women’s rowing placed third overall.

Cal’s men’s and women’s crew teams both had successful races at the Redwood Shores with fast and consistent racing plans that were well-executed.

Wrapping up their regular-season dual races, Cal's mens crew is close to participating in the Big Row against Stanford. Meanwhile, the women's team will have its Title IX celebration race at Redwood Shores against SMU and Iowa.

The men’s crew had a successful weekend up in Washington against the Huskies winning four out of five races and leaving with the Schoch Cup while the women's crew won three out of five races but lost the V8+ race and the Simpson cup.

Both men’s and women’s crew teams will be making the journey to Seattle to race against the Washington Huskies in their second-to-last races of the season.

The blue and gold are in for a taxing weekend with two events occurring simultaneously. The Ebright invitational and the Pac-12 Challenge will take place on both Saturday and Sunday.

The San Diego Classic was an eye opening event for both the men’s and women’s crew teams. Both teams raced well but will also look to improve before their next competitions.
