Thus, we came to the conclusion to take a pause and reflect on who we are as a newspaper, and how we can and should do better to amplify the voices of the LGBTQ+ community — regardless of what month it is. 

When you cast your ballot, make sure you share your voice. As you share your voice, make sure you are the one speaking.

As bosses of our elected officials, we must tell them what we want and hold them accountable when they don’t deliver, whether by email, phone or protest.

When it comes to the safety of children and the seriousness of racial bias, the campus administration should be quick to respond to initial concerns, and it is beyond imperative that the responses include concrete policy and procedural plans to make sure no other children end up in situations like this one.

The UC Berkeley campus has promised to do its best to prevent and respond to sexual harassment as effectively, humanely, fairly and transparently as possible. Our community must all take our sexual harassment prevention training and take it to heart; we must all, in small or large ways, live up to our values as a respectful community. Promises like those are completely possible to keep.
