Alameda County moves to most restrictive guidelines, COVID-19 rates rise

Under purple tier guidelines, indoor gatherings, including in places of worship and fitness centers, will no longer be allowed.
In response to a rapid increase in COVID-19 classes across the state, California Gov. Gavin Newsom and state public health officials placed Alameda County, as well as 40 other counties, in the most restrictive level of California’s reopening framework on Monday.
