UCPD employee files lawsuit against police department, UC Regents

A civil lawsuit was filed by UCPD’s security specialist Sparky Carranza on Feb. 1 against UCPD, UC Board of Regents and UCPD Captain Alex Yao for allegedly creating a hostile work environment and failing to protect her from “discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.”

The “Community United By Service for Kids Toy and School Supply Drive,” a donation drive organized by UCPD after the destruction from the Camp Fire, is coming to a close as more than 4,500 donated items are being delivered throughout the local area.
