The chicks of UC Berkeley’s resident peregrine falcon Annie have all successfully passed flight school, according to Mary Malec, a volunteer with Cal Falcons. 

Pre-schoolers, prospective UC Berkeley students, amateur birdwatchers, campus grandparents and many more gathered Tuesday to watch the livestream of the Cal Falcons “hatch day” at the Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive, or BAMPFA.

UC Berkeley’s famed falcon Annie has found a new mate to snuggle up alongside in the Campanile. Annie, now a mother of one, has also welcomed Lou to the family. 

From an unprovoked attack on a lover to a mysterious disappearance, a blindsided tragedy to a rebound turned companion, Annie’s stay at the Campanile can be read as a pitch for a prime-time novella.

Equipped and readied with folding chairs and binoculars, Cal Falcons volunteers anticipated the Campanile peregrine chicks' first flight Saturday.

The votes are in, and the two peregrine falcon chicks atop the Campanile just received their names: Lindsay and Grinnell Jr. 

It was a festive Mother’s Day weekend for Annie the Peregrine falcon, as she welcomed two new chicks Thursday and Friday.

Things are becoming official for Annie the peregrine falcon’s new Campanile paramour: "New Guy" has been officially named Alden, Cal Falcons announced Monday.

In a tragic turn of events, beloved Campanile peregrine falcon Grinnell was found dead Thursday afternoon in Downtown Berkeley after being hit by a vehicle.

After being announced as missing a day before, Annie the peregrine falcon returned to the Campanile on Tuesday to put a stop to rumors of her death.
