Haas School of Business study analyzes impact of chains businesses on local business closures

Researchers from the Haas School of Business found that the closing of large chain businesses impacted closing plans of independent small businesses in the same neighborhoods at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A study from UC Berkeley researchers found that during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the closing of large chain businesses influenced closing plans of independent businesses in the same neighborhoods.
